Most Joomla templates aren't designed with advertisers in mind.

Bolt has been created with space for three of the four most popular and important banner sizes:

• Top Banner: 728 x 90 pixels
• Left Column: 160 x 600 pixels
• Right Column: 300 x 250 pixels

In case you were wondering, this is a full list of the most common banner sizes. You'll recognize a lot of these if you use Google Adsense or affiliate programs from a site such as Commission Junction:

• Leaderboard: 728 x 90 pixels
• Wide Skyscraper: 160 x 600 pixels
• Medium Rectangle: 300 x 250 pixels
• Large Rectangle: 336 x 280 pixels
• Full Banner: 468 x 60 pixels
• Half Banner: 234 x 60 pixels
• Rectangle: 180 x 150 pixels
• Square Button: 125 x 125 pixels
• Skyscraper: 120 x 600 pixels
